Diversity - Polyveg Nature always favours diversity, so following her example is essential if we want to create a productive, interactive and stable system for ourselves. Many of our accepted modern farming practices do just the opposite, but then again, agriculture has never been properly designed. |

Monocultures only use a fraction of the vertical space both above & below the ground & are home to very few species, often creating an imbalance that leads to 'pest plagues' & massive crop failures. This can in turn lead to famine in some countries & the resultant tragedies we so often hear about on the news. By planting a diverse collection of food crops together, such as in this polyveg bed, we can help to avoid such problems. |
