Patterns - Flowers Here we see more spirals, this time in a double form, rotating opposite ways. Often these spiral one way more tightly than the other. We see this particular pattern in the seed heads of flowers (so clearly shown here), in their petal patterns & also in the whorls of their leaves. |

There are many more patterns & given time we can study them in great detail. Many people have devoted their lives to understanding & applying these patterns in designing natural systems, Viktor Schauberger's work is particularly applicable to us as permaculturists. As for using patterns in the design of human settlements & living spaces, 'A Pattern Language' by Christopher Alexander et al is also a fascinating read. |
