Sectors - Sun, Wind & Views
Once we have decided how far to place each of our design elements from the centre, we need to consider another factor in their placement. Whilst zones are like ripples, sectors are like 'pieces of pie'. Having decided how far away & in what sector, we can then place each element.
The sectors that influence a land-based design would include the sun sector (where are the midsummer & midwinter sunrises & sunsets?), the wind sector (where are the prevailing winds coming from?) & good & bad views for instance. In some climates the fire sector is important too. Above we can see a good view which is also in the sun & wind sectors (so the trees are a well-placed windbreak, far enough away to allow in the sun).
