I currently teach a selection of courses that accommodate different levels of learning in permaculture. These range from taster days and introductory weekends, to full design courses (90hrs) that provide participants with an opportunity to learn about and to start to apply the principles and tools. I also teach more specialist courses for design course graduates, that advance permaculture learning and provide tools and skills for teaching and facilitation. While I always have a fairly full course programme, if you think that I could help with teaching a course that you are convening, contact me with the details and I'll let you know my availability. Thanks.

I often run introductory events in either a one or two day format. For Taster days, I combine a bit of theory with a site visit in a single day - which is a bit of a whistle-stop tour! For introductory weekends, I have more time to introduce permaculture theory and include some creative methods of teaching in my indoor sessions on the Saturday. The site visit then takes place on the Sunday, providing along with a tour of principles put into practice, an opportunity to engage in some simple activities that participants can put into action at home. In both situations I provide some simple tips to start you to bring permaculture into your own life and guidance upon where to go next to learn more.

If you are looking to make a significant change in your life, then the
full permaculture design course will almost certainly help you. The
course provides you with a broader introduction to the applications of
permaculture in a number of different situations. This course is for
anyone who believes that we need to find ways to care for ourselves,
for each other and for the Earth. This practical course will bring the
possibility of significant and positive life changes.

Although permaculture is most commonly thought about in connection with
gardening and farming, its principles, ethics and design methods can
be adapted and used in each individual's own work, interests and home
to bring about a more harmonious and sustainable lifestyle.

The course is suitable for all abilities: both apprentice and experienced teachers and also for those who have just completed their Permaculture Design course (PDC). During the course we will be focusing on the tools and techniques for teaching and facilitating permaculture learning and the practicalities of convening and running courses. We won't be revisiting the topics on a PDC in any depth and so it is recommended that if your permaculture knowledge is a bit rusty that you do some preparatory background reading before the course. The ToT will concentrate on permaculture training but the techniques covered can be applied to any other subject and hence the course would be valuable for any teacher wanting to expand their creative teaching techniques.

If you have recently (or not so recently!)
completed your Permaculture Design course and are looking to further
your learning, then the Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design may be just the thing that you are looking for! The Diploma process provides you with a support network, while allowing you to design your own learning pathway using the process of Action Learning. These events are designed to clarify all the different aspects of the Diploma process for you; from signing
up, right through to your accreditation process. I really valued the support I got from the Diploma process and would love to help you enjoy the same.
Although I only currently run induction events from time to time, I am also happy to be invited, if you feel that you have enough interested students.
